My name is Joaquin Laborda, as an industrial designer and I’ve been working on product development for Argentina since 1997.
Teaching industrial design courses either in public or private universities for six years prepared my expertise on the subject.
Along these years I’ve achieved great experience modelling and rendering using various programs, constantly investigating new methods and techniques to keep learning so as to offer best quality in less time.
Recently, I have developed different products with rotomolded plastic, and vacuum forming for the past 8 years for a company which produces portable toilets. During this time I did both concept designs and molds design. On the other hand I have developed big serial products using injected plastic as well as small exclusive series. Another line of products in which I’ve been involved with, are stands for purchase points; for firms such as Sony, JVC, Warsteiner and Compaq.
In view of the (realism, quality) that characterizes my 3D models and renderings, I have been requested for different project presentations and animations. Another interesting thing I've been working with, is beta testing for 3D plug-ins like V-ray for Rhino and T-spline for Rhino.
If I had to say what I like the most of my profession, I should say it is working in inter-discipline teams. Teams formed by: designers, engineers, people from marketing departments, and artists). My goal is to keep an open mind attitude, in order to get global and innovating views.
Therefore, the name I have chosen: “Trum”, meaning “integral” in a patagonian dialect. |
